Can Pre-Workout Cause Acne? The gym is great for so much. It improves your mood, boosts energy, combats health conditions and diseases and so much more. But for some people, going to the gym is a personal challenge, and every time they go they want to beat PBs and be as good as they can. For this, they might use something called pre-workout.

What Is Pre-Workout?

You can’t expect to be 100 percent ready for every workout. If you’re going to the gym feeling weary, lethargic, and unmotivated, discovering the greatest pre-workout may be all you need to get back on track.

Pre-workout supplements, commonly known as “pre-workouts,” are designed to provide you with energy before exercising. Caffeine is the key component in the majority of them. These supplements are usually in the form of pills or powder. Some of the chemicals in pre-workout supplements may be beneficial to your health and workouts.

Caffeine is found in many pre-workout supplements, which enhances your energy and helps you push through the workout. When I say packed, I really mean it!

The caffeine content in pre-workouts typically ranges from 150–300 mg per serving. One of the reasons pre-workout pills make you feel “wired” is because of this.

Dehydration

First and foremost, peeing more than usual dehydrates your entire body, including your skin.

When your skin is dehydrated, it generates oil to combat the dryness, which can cause issues for acne-prone people. Dry skin generates oil to battle the dryness, which can clog pores and cause acne.

They Contain Ingredients That May Cause Acne

  • Protein
  • Creatine
  • Mass gainers (calorie-dense supplements packed with protein, carbs, and fats)
  • BCAAs (branched-chain amino acids)

The most common causes of issues are high carb levels and whey protein.

Animal or soy-based proteins, artificial sweeteners, and a slew of other less-than-natural substances are commonly included in pre-workout supplements.
